LIGHT TRANSITIONS TAPES

  Breath Sounds breathing tapes are measured pieces of music put together in sequence that form Pranayama, or breathing pattern.  Each tape is 30 minutes per side and has a 4 minute speaking introduction/instruction on side A to get you started.

The steady rhythm of music measures are played on the lowest volume as a guide only for practicing breath control.

Consistent, even measures allow the body itself to count by following the sounds creating an even, more effective practice, free from mind activity, and deeper relaxation.  We have found that the body learns and connects to the patterns in a short time.  By changing the breathing pattern habitual underbreathing, so familiar in our stressed society can be broken.

Changing the breathing pattern interrupts this habitual loop and relieves the tension and anxiety of underbreathing.  Breath Sounds tapes can be used to easily re-establish your healthier breathing pattern.

Breath sounds tapes currently available are:

 

Pattern 1 Sahita Kumbhaka
  INHALE HOLD EXHALE HOLD

Choose based on your exhalation count; choose one that is a little longer than your slowest exhalation.  When you use the tape lying down comfortably you should be challenged for the first few times.
 
 

Pattern 2 Analoma Viloma
  INHALE HOLD EXHALE  
C. 4 16 8  
D. 5 20 10  
Choose based on a combination of the hold (kumbhaka) and the exhalation.  In most cases the 4-16-8 will be the most appropriate for a first selection.  Use a roll under your middle back if it is difficult.
       
 

Pattern 3 Ujjayi
  INHALE EXHALE

F. 8 8    
If you intend to use this pattern while lying or sitting then choose the ratio based on your present exhalation length.  If you intend to use this tape in combination with movement yoga to keep a smooth even breath, then choose a smaller exhalation number that you comfortably has as movement
   
 

RELAXATION TAPES

Relaxation Tapes are designed to reduce stress, stimulate physiological healing, promote mental clarity, and create a stronger sense of daily well being.

Each relaxation is 20-25 minutes long and is accompanied by soothing background sounds.

BASIC BACK CARE VIDEO

This short and highly effective back care program offers safe movements that relieve discomfort and promote healthier backs.  This 30 minute video focuses on understanding and learning to use stretching and strengthening movements to care for your back.  The tape guides you through a series of movements that a designed to create healthier, stronger, and flexible backs.  The movement series is followed by a short relaxation.
